VENEZUELAN FLAN

Hello friends, here I am, already started a new season, autumn, a fabulous time to experiment with pumpkins but before really starting, with that, I wanted to leave a very typical recipe in Venezuela and very simple to do.

In other countries it is known as milk flan, in Venezuela as a quesillo, usually always based on milk and egg, but in this recipe you will find a variant, which replaces the main ingredient that is condensed milk.

If you're fond of dulce de leche like me, this recipe will love you for sure. To make this dessert so easy and delicious, you will need the following ingredients.

A can of dulce de leche (equals 14 oz)

14 Oz the liquid milk of your choice

5 fresh eggs

1 tablespoons vanilla

5 tablespoons of sugar

2 tablespoons water.

For the preparation:

In a blender place the eggs, milk and dulce de leche and vanilla, beat for 5 min or until everything is well integrated, (in case you do not get dulce de leche, you can do it yourself, placing a can of milk condensed to boil for a period of 2 hours and a half).

In a saucepan over medium heat, place the 5 sugar cubes and 2 water, boil until caramelized, and then spread over the mold that you want to use for the quesillo.

To the same caramelized mold add the previously prepared mixture, and it takes to bath Maria for a period of 1 hour 20 minutes.

If you want you can also take it to the oven at 350 f or 180 c for a period of 2 hours or until you have compacted.

To finish you must store in the refrigerator for 5 hours or overnight and the next day unmold. It is one of my favorite recipes. But do not abuse this dessert because it remembers that it is high in sugar.

If you like the recipe you share in your networks or label someone.
